About Emilie Heurtevent
I've started painting in 2001 when I went back from a trip in New-York. I had this inexplicable need to reproduce all these colours, odours, noises that the city is able to concentrate. Since then, I've constantly been searching for new techniques and forms. My paintings explore the ideas of movement, gesture, emotions and traces. I want to take the beholder to a place of full and deep energy. My process varies from time to time, I never really want to repeat my work or expect the final result of a painting. I'll do a series of works on one emotion, one movement, one texture, and then I'll move to something different. It's all about experiment and perception. I want to question everything and explore the mystery of living.
